A day of healing at the church facility (in the heart of Southeast Los Angeles). This inclusive event will emphasize the importance of mental health, healing, and trauma recovery among the African-American community through art, self-expression, and conversation about trauma in the Black community. ECM has distinguished itself as a safe space for historically "unchurched" individuals to restore their relationship with their community through the expressive arts, such as storytelling, videography, dance, and poetry. While all are welcome, the event is focused on African-Americans' unique relationship with mental health, including the stigma of discussing mental health needs and seeking healing.
